For the adventuresome beginner and experienced rafter the Class II and III rapids will have you filled with adrenaline as you paddle hard over the waves. Along the way you will be astounded by the awesome canyons, waterfalls, and primary rainforest of Costa Rica. The Savegre River is a magnificent stretch of whitewater that begins its course by winding out of a sparsely inhabited valley in the mountains. This trip also includes a stop at a beautiful waterfall.
Includes snack, lunch, certified equipment and guides, safety kayaker, and A/C transportation to and from hotels or houses in Manuel Antonio or Quepos.

Our tour guides picked us up at our hotel right on time, very nice, friendly and professional. We went to the office to sign the waiver forms and then our adventure began. We traveled approximately one hour 15 mins to the drop in point. During the drive our guide Andres explained lots about the area, he had very good information and shared interesting things about Costa Rica. At the drop in point we were given guidance and instruction on what to expect. The crew handled everything from putting the raft on the water, even made sure our helmets and life jackets were applied correctly. This crew really knows this river well. We had an amazing time. We stopped at a waterfall and were able walk into and behind the falls. We opted for the photographer which I highly recommend- he was able to capture amazing photos. They do offer dry storage for your wallets, phones etc. The river was awesome. The entire day was great. About 1/2 way thru they’ll stop for a snack of delicious fruit. At the end of the journey the crew handles everything. I recommend bringing extra clothes for after and maybe flip flops. Your shoes will be wet. We only had sneakers but if u have sandals with backs that would work as well for the rafting. We felt safe because of our raft guide and they have a safety person in the water on kayak as well as another crew member in kayak who doubles as photographer. When you return to office you will have a very good traditional lunch made fresh for you. Well worth the money. Thanks to Andres, Carlos and Juan for making this an special day for us. (The water fall picture below is not the large waterfall I mentioned in the review- this was just a sample of the beautiful drive to drop in point)

Savegre Rafting

We had a blast with this crew: Andrey, Andres, y todos. They made it fun, safe, and memorable. We did Savegre - it was 2 hours on the river with a couple stops along the way. Up to Class 3 rapids, we were challenged but had a great time and able to enjoy the scenery too. Lunch, snacks, and gear provided. Gracias Amigos!

Awesome day of rafting on the Savegre with knowledgeable and hilarious guides: Luis, Juan Carlos, Alvaro, Mauricio and skilled bus driver Charlie who got us to our drop in point safely. The scenery is stunning along the river and the rapids weren’t too high this time of year but lots of fun. We were able to get out and float several times and our rest stop at a waterfall was beautiful. The guides set up our mid-point snack in such an aesthetic way, not what I would expect in the middle of a rafting trip (and we’ve been on quite a few). The lunch following rafting at a local restaurant surpassed our expectations. Overall a wonderful day spent with local guides who really care about their customers as well as Costa Rica and the beauty it beholds.
